Float Legal Secretary


JS Legal Recruitment are excited to be working with a leading regional Legal 500 law firm with multiple offices across Essex. Due to continued growth my client is recruiting for a Float Legal Secretary.


As a Float legal secretary you would be based in one office. However you would be expected to travel between our clients Essex based offices to provide short term cover when required.


The Float Legal Secretary  will provide administrative support to one or more lawyers.


The Role

  •  Opening and closing files
  • Diary management, preparing lawyers for external meetings
  • Carry out ID checks and money laundering checks
  • Using Land Registry Portal to request documentation and make applications
  • Using the HMRC Portal to prepare and submit SDLT returns
  • Using search flow to request property searches
  • Private client – witnessing wills, typing of wills, LPA’s , Estate Accounts
  • Family work- assisting with Divorce, separation , co habitation and Children matters
  • Preparing trial bundles
  • Assisting with Litigation matters
  • Preparing bills and drafting narratives
  • Taking credit card payments
  • Booking events, training etc


The Candidate


  • You will possess excellent legal secretarial skills, experience with multiple area’s of law would be advantageous
  • Experience with all Microsoft Office packages , excellent  Audio Typing  skills
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent communications skills and a team player
  • Driving licence
